An all volunteer program dedicated to empowering community members to assess and preserve the unique ecological resources for our community.

SWAMP is an all volunteer program dedicated to empowering community members to assess and preserve the unique ecological resources for our community.

While it's hard to list all of the activities and efforts that go into a civic science project, we of the Swamp tribe are commonly found:

  •   Surveying local monitoring sites
  •   Training volunteers and members
  •   Recruitment and educational outreach
  •   Having fun and making friends outdoors!

Join us for our 9th year running!

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Peter Ritson, PhD., an environmental scientist, is looking for volunteers to search for amphibians and their eggs. This is the ninth year of this entirely volunteer program which monitors Clark County's wetlands by examining amphibian populations. The project involves training community volunteers to search for pond breeding amphibians and their eggs this winter, then reporting the findings to local and state agencies.
